MANILA, Philippines — Nineteen more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia have returned to the country, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) announced late on Monday.
In a statement on their Facebook page, the DMW said 12 were staying in the Bahay Kalinga shelters, who experienced “unfortunate situations on their overseas employment” and requested assistance from the agency to return home.
DMW Assistant Secretary Maria Regina Galias and DMW-NCR Regional Director Falconi Millar, along with other teams from the DMW and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), met with the repatriates and provided them with immediate assistance and whole-of-government support.

The Filipinos, who arrived home through Saudia Flight SV 870 at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1, also received financial and transportation assistance from the DMW and OWWA, as well as medical assistance from the airport’s medical staff.
